Although City By The Sea DJs is a new company name, its owner Anthony Groves has been a fixture as a Newport area DJ. Anthony was born and raised in Newport and started his DJ career in 1980. He has been an in demand nightclub DJ since 1981 and has been a DJ/Emcee for many weddings and private events including the prestigious Americas Cup Ball in 1983. The nightclubs he has worked at have won awards numerous times being named "the best place to go dancing" by the readers of "Rhode Island Monthly" and the "Newport Mercury" as well as "Best Nightclub" multiple times by the "Fall River Herald"."
